Informazioni per gli autori
 
1. Gli articoli, redatti in italiano o in inglese, dovranno essere inviati alla segreteria di redazione all'indirizzo e mail biologiitaliani@onb.it.
2. Gli articoli e le illustrazioni divengono proprietà del mensile.
3. Nel caso di più autori, gli stessi dovranno indicare il nominativo ed i recapiti (affiliazione, E-mail, indirizzo postale e numero di telefono) al quale inviare le comunicazioni.
4. I lavori, in formato .doc o .rtf, dovranno contenere circa 5800 battute (spazi inclusi) per pagina. La lunghezza dell'articolo non dovrà eccedere le 10 pagine (inclusi figure, grafici, tabelle e bibliografia).
5. Il corpo dell'articolo deve essere articolato come segue:
5.1. Lavori originali
a) titolo, nome ed indirizzo dell'autore o degli autori;
b) riassunto
c) introduzione;
d) materiali e metodi;
e) risultati;
f) discussione;
g) conclusioni;
h) eventuali note e ringraziamenti;
i) bibliografia
5.2. Articoli di review
a) titolo, nome ed indirizzo dell'autore o degli autori;
b) riassunto
c) introduzione;
d) testo della review;
e) conclusioni;
f) eventuali note e ringraziamenti,
g) bibliografia
5.3. Articoli di attualità scientifica

6. I riferimenti bibliografici dovranno essere elencati in ordine alfabetico con numerazione progressiva come da esempio e contenere: il nome e le iniziali degli autori, l'anno di pubblicazione (fra parentesi) il titolo dell'articolo, il nome della rivista (in corsivo), numerazione in cifre arabe del volume e della prima e ultima pagina dell'articolo. Nel caso di libri, dovrà essere citato l'autore o gli autori, l'anno di pubblicazione (fra parentesi), il titolo (in corsivo), l'edizione, il nome dell'editore e la casa editrice. Nel testo, la bibliografia dovrà essere citata con il nome dell'autore e la data in parentesi, usando i termini "et al.", quando ci siano più di due autori.
7. Le illustrazioni non dovranno essere contenute nel testo ma fornite in file separati. Tutte le fotografie, i grafici, ed i diagrammi dovranno essere numerati consecutivamente in numeri arabi nell'ordine in cui essi verranno citati nel testo. Le foto dovranno essere, dove possibile, ridotte al minimo. Diagrammi e grafici dovranno essere predisposti in formato .xls. Il titolo dell'illustrazione dovrà essere completo. Le scale di riduzione o di ingrandimento dovranno essere indicate su tutte le illustrazioni. La legenda delle figure dovrà essere inserita in un foglio separato e dovrà essere tale da rendere comprensibile l'illustrazione senza riferimenti al testo.
8. Le tabelle dovranno essere composte chiaramente e fornite di una didascalia che ne permetta la comprensione senza dover far riferimento al testo, con la numerazione in numeri arabi.
9. Si dovranno utilizzare unicamente abbreviazioni di riferimento. Nel caso in cui si renda necessario utilizzare abbreviazioni, il nome in questione dovrà essere riportato per esteso nella prima occasione in cui viene citato, con l'abbreviazione tra parentesi. L'acronimo può essere usato per il resto del testo.

10. Come norma di carattere generale, si raccomanda agli autori di discutere i risultati del loro lavoro alla luce di evidenze sperimentali comparabili reperite nella letteratura scientifica nazionale ed internazionale.

 
Information for contributors:

1. Articles should be submitted by email to: biologiitaliani@onb.it.
2. Articles and illustrations become property of the journal.
3. In case of multiple authorship, the authors should indicate who is in charge to receive correspondence.
4. Articles, in .doc or .rtf format, should have approximately 5,800 key stokes (including spaces) per page. They should not exceed 10 pages (including graphs, charts and bibliography).
5. The body of the text should be set out as follows:
5.1 Scientific Papers:

5.3 Current research articles:

6. Bibliographical references should be cited in the text as follows:
a) if the article is the work of more than one author, only the first name and year of publication should be given, e.g. (Krovacek 1989).
b)  if the article is the work of two authors, both are named along with the year of publication, e.g. (Rippey and Cabelli 1985).
In the references, authors should be listed in alphabetical order, as in the example, and contain the author's names and initials, year of publication (in brackets), the article title, and the name of the Journal (in italic) with the number of the volume in Arabic numerals, together with the first and last pages of the article. In a book, the references should cite the author(s), year of publication (in brackets), title, edition, publisher and place of publication. In the text, the reference should be cited by author name and date in parentheses, using "et al." when there are more than two authors.
7. Graphs and charts should not be included in the main text but printed on a separate page. All photographs, graphs, and diagrams should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals in the order in which they are referred to in the text.
Diagrams and graphs should be in .xls format.
Scale indication should be used wherever necessary. Legends for the illustrations should be included on a separate sheet and should be readily intelligible without having to refer back to the text.
8. Charts should be clear, and have captions making them intelligible without having to refer back to the text. Arabic numerals should be used.
9. If the use of abbreviations is necessary, the expression should be initially given in full, followed by the abbreviation in parenthesis. The acronym may be used thereafter.
